In the statement issues this week Mr Adelson, owner of Las Vegas Sands and supporter of the Republican Party, made it very clear that he was firmly against legalizing online casinos in USA because of his concern over the moral dangers of allowing there to be “a casino in every home”. Regardless of any of this, Adelson’s opinion remains the same, strongly against online gambling for all of eternity. Luckily, it’s not up to Mr Adelson.

Some of the most spoken about opposition to online gambling has been from the various indigenous Native American tribes around the state, who claim that their land-based casinos are likely to be affected. One argument is that they are more than welcome to set up their own US online casinos once the bill passes.

And so again we come to that familiar situation where a bill is on the table, this time being backed by none other than the state senate. “I’m not driven by making money, because basically whatever money I make from here on in is going to charity or the US government is going to take it. What I would like to see is this town win in every way, not just Super Bowl championships.” Adding that he wanted it to have the “best school system” and that “You can’t do that if you don’t have economic vitality.”

According to statement made by Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter and the executive vice president of Trump Entertainment which filed for bankruptcy in 2009, her father will lend his name to the joint venture while the investment part of the deal will be carried out by Avenue Capital Management.
